Facilitating Non-Routine Problems

In this course, participants are challenged to attempt non-routine problems from a variety of syllabus content areas and explore strategies for effective implementation. We investigate methods to allow access for all students and implications for assessment of student performance across the course performance descriptors.

Participants will leave this course empowered to create, structure and facilitate non-routine problems with their students. Teachers are given a package of non-routine problems prepared for classroom use, including accompanying marking rubrics and differentiation tools.

Is this course for me?

This course is aimed at teachers of secondary mathematics who are looking to enhance opportunities for students to use connections between mathematical concepts and solve challenging problems targeted to their students’ ability levels.
